We are once again looking for a farm manager. Unfortunately, our previous advertising process led to wasted time for many people and the unauthorized use of their ideas.

We had a fantastic afternoon at the Harvest Festival at Acton Scott. The friendly atmosphere, well-maintained animals, and welcoming volunteers made it a truly unforgettable experience. The harvest service and meal brought everyone together, and Edward the Shire Horse was a highlight.
After a short closure, the venue is now open for special events in 2024, with plans to fully reopen next spring. The volunteers have worked hard to make sure the farm is in great condition, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. I'm looking forward to returning in 2025.

The historic farm is scheduled to reopen in 2025, but we had the opportunity to visit today as part of the trial tours organized to assist the charity in preparing for the grand reopening. We were greeted by friendly individuals and were impressed by the beautiful location of the farm.

I used to enjoy bringing the kids here, but now it seems that the facility is temporarily closed according to information online.

Our second visit to Acton Scott farm in August 2019 was just as enjoyable as our previous one. If you have an interest in farming history or simply enjoy being around farms and animals, Acton Scott is a must-visit. Witnessing the majestic heavy horses in action is a truly remarkable experience, although it's important to note that Shire horses are now more endangered than Pandas. The only downside to our visit was that some of the displays we had seen before were missing, and the hand milking of cows, which I had previously participated in and enjoyed, had been discontinued. Despite these changes, I would still highly recommend visiting Acton Scott farm and would definitely return in the future.

This experience was exceptional. Our guide, Rob, was incredibly engaging and made sure that everyone, even those at the back or who were slower to keep up, could fully participate and hear all the information.

What a fantastic day!

We had a fantastic morning at this place. The staff is amazing and willing to help with any questions. There are many activities to enjoy in the morning and afternoon, with more options becoming available as restrictions are lifted. The "little farmers" walk in the morning was a hit with children of all ages.

I used to bring my kids to this place every Easter when they were growing up. We have so many wonderful memories here, and now it was time to bring my two grandsons. It was amazing to relive those happy memories with my kids. The place is just as great as before, and it's a perfect spot to experience the challenges of farming in the past. The staff are just as informative as they used to be, and it was nice to see some familiar faces from the past. I would highly recommend this place to anyone interested in the history of farming and the outdoors. It's also a fantastic place to take kids.

What a fantastic day! Make sure you don't miss out on this experience. We arrived at 11am and spent the day exploring until 4pm. There is so much to see and the guides are there to provide information and answer any questions you may have.
The animals have their own schedule, with the Shire horses working in the morning and then resting for a few hours. The forge was in operation throughout the day, with Tom, a knowledgeable farrier, sharing interesting insights about horse shoes.
The animals are well cared for and we even had the opportunity to see newborn piglets up close. Personally, I was particularly fond of the goats. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes or boots, and bring wellies for kids. While the school house cafe was closed, a makeshift barbecue was set up in the covered picnic area. Allergies are taken into consideration.
For visitors with mobility issues, like my husband who uses a wheelchair, the Tramper can be hired for the day with a prior booking. There is no charge for this service, just a donation is appreciated.

We had an amazing time on our first visit to the farm! It was both inexpensive and affordable, with plenty of animals to see. Every staff member we encountered was incredibly polite. The blacksmith was particularly kind to our son, who is thrilled with his new horse shoe. We loved feeding the lambs and holding the baby chicks. We will definitely be coming back in the future. Thank you for a great day out, we highly recommend a visit to this farm.

Update April 2021: Acton Scott has reopened and we had an amazing time during our recent visit. We were treated to a fascinating basket weaving demonstration by David, followed by watching Tom, the talented blacksmith, craft a horseshoe for us. It's a perfect time to visit now, with adorable baby goats, piglets, and chicks to see, and the charming café is open as well.
Acton Scott is a fantastic working farm with welcoming staff, interesting displays, and a variety of animals. The gift shop offers unique items from local artists. We had a blast at their Halloween event with DJs and storytelling, and we're planning to return in the spring to see the heavy horses and perhaps even take a craft workshop.

We made sure to book in advance due to COVID regulations, and I was impressed with how well everything was organized. The visit was still interactive and enjoyable without feeling intrusive.
I would definitely recommend a visit to this farm!
